The golden rule: use damp
los lappies are designed to be used damp. When dry they feel firm and paper-like; when damp they become soft, spongy and ready to clean. A quick rinse under the tap is enough to soften them before use.
Rinse well after every use
After wiping spills or surfaces, rinse your lappie well under running water. This helps release dirt, soap and food residue before it dries into the fibres. A good rinse is the easiest way to keep it looking and smelling better for longer.
Air-dry between uses
Do not leave your lappie in a soggy ball in the sink. Hang it, drape it or lay it somewhere with airflow. The faster it dries, the less chance there is for odour-causing bacteria to grow.
For a deeper clean
OG and XL los lappies can go in the washing machine or on the top rack of the dishwasher. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Both can shorten the life of the fibres.
Face Rounds are different because they are used on skin. Machine wash them in their cotton mesh pouch once you have used all 10, and let them air-dry properly.
How long should they last?
With proper care, OG and XL los lappies can last up to 9 months, or until worn thin. Face Rounds last around 6-9 months, depending on use and care.
When it is time to let go
When your lappie is worn thin and no longer doing its job, cut it up and add it to your home compost. It has cleaned, rinsed, dried, repeated and earned its place in the soil.
